Some poetry for your your mind

Still Swimming

I am still swimming, but not upstream anymore

Not against the coarse grain that my mind once perceived as harsh reality

I am Still...I am Quiet...I am Serene.

The liquid of Love, Life and the  Universe supports my being.

The swimming is sustaining, swimming is the Moment

Movement is a Constant

The sands of Time turn into emerald green water,

Time is no longer a burden

I swim in the deep end,  the deep end of Life

The deep end is new and unexplored…Exciting!

It raises my trepidation but somehow elevates my confidence

By being still inside I can journey into the unknown

Life is liquid and each Moment is an Eternity unto itself

A Miracle every nano-second

Freestyle stroke, moving forward, Moon and Stars overhead

Earth traveling at warp speed

Sun comforting billions of others on the other side of the globe

The seed of a Sequoia tree rooting next to its great grandmother

And the spider’s web connects to her

Connecting to the air that I breathe every three strokes

As I glide across the smooth Aqua Blue

I am Still...I am Swimming

I am Still Inside... as I swim

I love that swimming comes to me as easily as breathing now.

Peace, Be Still.

NOW WHAT?

What is, is what is
What is not, is what is not
What is not,  is not what is

What was, was, what was
It is not, what is
It is not, what is not
It is what was

What will be is, what will be (Que sera, sera)
It is not what is
It is not what was,  it is what is not, yet

What Now?

Now is what is, and as suddenly what is not, and then, forever, what was
As today, was tomorrow, yesterday...

Today is today
Today is not yesterday, and today is not tomorrow
Yesterday's gone
Tomorrow is not yet
There is only today...now

I strive to remind myself, there is nothing to be done about yesterday
There are things to do tomorrow and for now, there is only what is, and what is not today.

We can learn from the past, and imagine the future,
but can only live the now, NOW

And the now that I know, is what creates that future that can be...

God, give us the strength to leave the past where it belongs, and not lose today for the day that is not yet
to live in the day that is, knowing what is not, and what can be.

RACISM SUCKS

Racism sucks because it divides people and makes them fear each other.  Racism excuses ignorance of all kinds by blaming others for misfortune not understood.  Racism sucks the hope of meaningful peace out of the imagination.  Racists are insensitive to the collective effects of their attitudes!

Racism is powerless to transform itself or the future (its fate).  Racism is a tool for the greedy and a pacifier to the hateful.  Many people in this country live in the shadow of legislated racism, which punishes with an obligatory self-discrimination of identity.

My writing thoughts are clouding as I write this, even as my ignorance becomes more naked to me.  Racism cannot be understood, precisely because it has no sense.  Racism collapses under its own weight, falling in on itself until its perceiver releases it to fall away as a burden no longer sustainable; and the mind of the newly released from racism wonders why it took so long to make such an easy choice.
